DJ Soulscape (2007)
DJ Soulscape is a DJ, beatmaker, songwriter and an archeologist reintroducing and excavating the past music. Since he made a successful debut of ‘180g Beat (2000)’ , the very first trial of Turntablism and sampling of 100% analogue records in Korea, his place has been notable in the Korean DJ and vinyl collector scene putting out several albums; ‘Lovers(2003)’, mix album ‘tema’65’ by the name of ‘espionne’, keen on Brazilian and semi classical music, a library record style compilation ‘Creation and Beat’ vol.1 ‘Patterns for words (2007)’ and ‘the sound of Seoul(2007)’ , a collection of the Korean rare groove from the70’s. Aside from his own albums, he has been involved and a new wave culture of DJing taking different roles in various media. He was a musical director of the film ‘The Aggressives (2005)’ and the first guest DJ of KBS radio to introduce his own mixes as well as writing for magazines and participating in leading cultural events as Resfest and Sonar festival. So as to the street culture, he is running a DJ crew collective, 360 Sounds Party as co-founder. Since 2007 he established his own record label, he has been concentrating on making new sounds for Seoul based on a variety of music from the past.
